Course Overview 

This course is designed as a short program emphasizing safety, enjoyment, and skill development. The skills and knowledge gained through this course can set the stage for a lifetime of exploration, adventures, a healthy lifestyle, appreciation of water and the natural world, lasting memories with family and friends, and a rewarding experience for all - we paddle because it is fun.

You will develop the techniques, security and knowledge to be able to evolve in the

sea kayaking and make your practice a safe activity for you and other practitioners.

  Goals:

​The approach is based on learning and practicing strokes techniques, rescues and different situations

of emergency. Participants will increase skill, technical aptitude and capacity

in protected sea situations such as:

• Know and interpret sea conditions.

• Plan an outing.

• Rescue and self-rescue techniques, among others.

• Leadership  – Assess individual and group performance capabilities (i.e., skills, experience, judgement, fitness, boats, and equipment) and set goals
